How to auto approve 'EX' step in approval workflow

Hello, Experts, 
 I have an approval workflow that consists of a few approval levels and one of them is an approval step 'EX', I am using it to call a custom process. I am trying to find information on how to auto-approve 'EX' step and move to the next approval level in approval workflow. I have tried manipulating PersonWantsOrg table at the end of the custom process, but I have only been able to figure out how to finish the entire approval workflow bypassing all of the levels, and I can't figure out how to just move to the next level. 
 Has anyone had any experience with this before?

The customizer method MakeDecision on PersonWantsOrg should be used. If you don't need to await further action, you should be able to do that at the end of the custom process you called. Or if you need to await further action, you could have some data change trigger a second process that does that.
