Export sync project

Hi,

I am trying to export the sync project from version 7.1.2 to version 8. Followed the same as mentioned in kb

But still am unable to change the connection details of one Identity manager database.

When I click on edit connection am not getting the window prompt. Anyone faced the same.

Thanks,

Vijay

  • Hi Vijay,

A sync project can be exported in one version and imported into another instance of the same version, but i wouldn't expect this to work between versions.

In fact, when I try to do this myself (version 7.1.2 sync project into version 8) I get an error:

"This version of the database server is not supported by the product."

It does import but will not let me edit, as with yours.

Are you getting this? Is your SQL server version the same?

It may be a better idea to create the sync project in version 8, if possible.

  • Hi Trevor,

While importing Try open the transporter /force from command prompt then you will be able to import the complete sync project successfully even though there is a version change and after that am not able to change the 1IM DB connection details.

  • Trevor,

I thought there might be any alternate way for this, if not will update to version 8 and try this.

    Thanks,
    Vijay
  • As variable names had to change between 7.x and 8, to do legal reasons, you will have issues if you transport the project cross version.

In addition, after every migration, the system executes some schema update jobs that modify some of the internal schema entries in the sync projects if necessary. You miss those as well.

The recommended way is to update your 7.1.2 database to version 8 and then transport the project.
