Web Designer queries slow - v8

When you are using ObjectBrowser or SQL or running a complete SQL statement (SELECT ... FROM ... WHERE ...) but the Web Portal query is loading a collection of objects via the Object Layer.

You have to keep in mind, that a collection loaded via the Object Layer adds the permission statements to the where-clause and these statements can add to the complexity and performance of the statement.

Is there any way to see the real query being run? I enabled Trace logging using webdesigner.configfileeditor but it does not show me the full query being run (shows a snippet followed by ....)

Did you try to look in the log file directly?

Yes, it shows something like this:

2020-03-05 15:24:30.5680 DEBUG (    SqlLog dkytoo4jmkaisgrf41orc4r2) : (1026 ms) - select dbo.[QBM_FCVStringToGUID]('CCC','MyText') 

Actually the above example is not even being used to load a collection, just to calculate a UID but as you see it is taking over 1 sec - we have lots of these and it all adds up :)

I guess this is not the only log entry. But if this simple query takes a 1 second to complete, your SQL Server doesn't seem to be in shape.

Are you connected via an Application Server or directly to the SQL Server? If it is the first, then check the log of the Application Server in addition.
