How to use "HandleObjectComponent - DeferredOperation"

Hi everyone,

I'm using One Identity Manager 8.1.3.

I'd like to build a process which updates an attribute at the Person table - not immediately but in the future. I found the process component "HandleObjectComponent - DeferredOperation" but have no clue how to use it. I would've expected it takes the attribute I'd like to change and it's future value as parameters, but there's only the "ObjectState" parameter which I don't know how to use.

Could someone help me out?

Hi Martin,

the process task DeferredOperation executes an already stored deferred operation and is used in the ootb process VID_Execute_DialogDeferredOperation.

But you can create such deferred operation by a script as described in this thread https://www.oneidentity.com/community/identity-manager/f/forum/22747/create-a-deferred-event-generation-operation-from-a-script

The sample on this thread creates a new object but as written in the sample any operation, such as your updates, can be put in the deferred block.

I've got a bonus question: Is there a way to "cancel" a deferred Operation other than deleting the entry from table DeferredOperation?

There is no cancel as far as I know. What should be the difference between cancel and the delete operation?
