Exchange Online Sync Setup: Cannot connect to outlook.office365.com:443

Environment

  • 9.3
  • EntraID Sync established and initial sync completed
  • Windows Server 2022 Datacenter Azure Edition
  • System Proxy configured

When setting up the Exchange Online sync, using AppID and Cert, we get the exception

We can reach the URL in Edge (using same user as for running the Sync Editor, logged in with systemuser).

We can use the powershell cmdlets connect-exchangeonline (with AppID and Cert) and get-mailbox without error, so the credentials themself seem ok.

The manual says:

Prerequisites for synchronizing Exchange Online are:

  • The Microsoft Entra ID tenant is declared in One Identity Manager.

  • Synchronization of the Microsoft Entra ID system is carried out regularly.

1) What does "declared" mean? A table entry, a config parameter, or...?

2) Is there a difference between calling the powershell directly and using the Sync edit in terms of proxy settings?
