Synchronization Editor v7 vs Data Import.

I'm starting a new project where I need to import data from multiple (5-6) systems.
In phase 1 it will be just read only but in following phases I'll need to synchronize the data.

These systems interfaces are CSV files, database direct calls and web service calls.

My question is: What is the best practice for integration in this case?

Should i try to use Synchronization Editor for everything and if not possible go to Data Import?
Is Synchronization Editor limits how much custom logic we can apply to the process?

Please share your thoughts.

Thank you,

Paul Sherman.

  • Hi Barry,

What about web service calls? Using PowerShell is much more complicated that writing a simple script in the Data Import. Is there anything in sync editor that works directly with web service calls?

    Thanks,

    Paul.
