When setting up an SPS appliance for monitoring all ICA traffic through Citrix VM connections, what is the best way to determine the mode of operation we should set up the SPS in?
The customer has Citrix set up for contractors to connect to VMs, and I believe they use NetScaler as a gateway to determine networking. Given they have gateway, Figure 210 from the documentation looks like it would be closest to what we want (attached), but I've never captured ICA connections before and I'm unsure of the setup steps. I don't want to lead them into a setup that won't work in their environment.
What are the questions that should be asked about their environment before deciding on an SPS mode? And what should be the first steps in order to set up the SPS as an auditor for these ICA connections to test out functionality without causing a loss of operability for Citrix?
