Inquiry for Manually changing SPP passwords

Hi All,

you are about to create a profile that manually changes your AIX system account.

However, if you change it manually on the system, the sshd log continues to be generated. I forcibly disconnected the sshd because the sshd connection was difficult.

You have also turned off the Manual Change option in the profile settings. I wonder if there is anything that might be a problem if I changes it manually on a specific platform.

Hi Jaeil,

If I understood your question correctly is about using the option Change Passwords Manually in a Change Password Profile.

This option allows you to schedule a manual password change meaning SPP will not trigger a password change but send an email notification for the owner or admin to then login to SPP and update the password after changing it on the target account outside of SPP.

This applies when the change password schedule runs, however, if you went to the account in SPP and triggered a password change this way then that will cause a command to execute a password change against the target asset. Instead, you want to use Account Security > Set Password to update the account to the password manually
