Inquiry for password encryption algorithms for AIX

Hi All,

Does AIX support smd5 among password encryption algorithms?

if you change the encryption algorithm to smd5 and verify the password, you will receive a message that the password does not match.

There is no problem with changing your password. Please advice.

HI Jaeil,

Safeguard supports standard crypt, ssha256, ssha512 and ssha1 algorithms.

smd5 and sblowfish are not supported

The AIX password algorithm is controlled by the pwd_algorithm option in /etc/security/login.cfg
