Duplicate Assets from Discovery

I have found that if you were to create an Asset manually, and then discover that same Asset in a Discovery Job, a duplicate asset will be created. It does not work the other way around, as trying to create an asset manually will throw an error if that name is already in use.

I am on 7.0.4, and wanted to know if others have seen this in 7.4, or if it is fixed on the feature branch. I've been trying to use scripts to go through and remove duplicate assets, but it's a little tedious and would be much preferred if they just were not added by Discovery in the first place.

    HI Andrew,

    we have an existing enhancement feature # 306858 which is being considered to improve this scenario where SPP would not create duplicates based on asset discovery and allow more control such as presenting duplicates before auto adding them but there is no ETA on when this would be implemented yet.
